Use
& Applications
Imagine, you could control all your lights from a centralised point, one
by one, or all together.
For example, on the point to watch your favourite DVD, you could turn off
the ceiling light of your sitting room, and dim the table lamp, with your
universal audio video remote control.
At night, before going to bed, you could turn off all the lights of the
first floor from your bedroom.
In the morning, when leaving your home for your work, you could turn off
all the lights in the same way.
Your home could be also completely automated : in the morning and at night,
the lamps in your home would be turned on / off at set times, just when
you need it. When you are on holidays, some lights would be switched on
/ off to give your house a lived-in look – the proven best prevention against
burglars.
You may think that the system providing so many benefits is probably very
complex and expensive. It is surely not. Because it is totally wireless
and plug and play, you can set and install the Smart Home kit very easily,
at a much more affordable price than all the existing wired products.
What does this kit contain ?
X10 receiver modules, which you will connect to various types of lamp or
appliance :
- 2 x lamp module LM12 (IH2010), in which you can plug a simple table lamp
- 1 x appliance module AM12 IH2020), for halogen lamp, or any other electric
appliance such as a radio or a heater
- 1 x screw in lamp module LM15 (IH2025),
adapted to chandelier or external lights (if protected from the rain).
- 1 x Multimedia Remote. This is the controller of the system, adapted to all
audio video appliances, including the PC (with optional receiver IH9045),
and of course, your home automation system.
- 1 x TM13 Transceiver Module. The transceiver is the TM13 (IH2061),
which converts the radio signals sent by the 8 in 1 multimedia remote
control, into a PLC message, up to the right module. It is also possible
to connect any type of electric appliance in order to control it remotely.
- 1 x CM11 Computer interface. To control your appliances via a setting,
the kit also includes the Active Home software.
You can define groups of actions named macros, which can be activated at
a chose date, at a chosen day (working days / weekends / holidays),at defined
hours etc… You can also create a lived in look action, which will result
in turning on a lamp or a radio at a pre-set time, plus or minus a random
variation.
You program Active Home on your PC and when you're finished, you can switch
off your computer.
The Computer Interface keeps the setting in its memory. All X10 products
are compatible, that is why you can launch a macro with your 8 in 1 multimedia
remote control and you can add other products when you want.
Now you have all of your house in your hand, simply with the Smart Home
kit !
